Success Stories

Jason Covault: Extensive courtroom experience, starting at the earliest stages of his legal career

“We won our civil litigation case due entirely to Jason’s legal direction. He is a sharp and practiced attorney who blends a remarkable command of the law with the personality to sway anyone to his line of thinking.”

- Jonathan R. Hopkins, Hopkins & Rhodes LLC

Jason Covault focuses on serious personal injury claims, including medical negligence, elder abuse, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death.

Jason's practice also encompasses general civil litigation, and results for his clients have included these recent outcomes:

  • Summary judgment for an international commercial real estate broker in a dispute regarding the validity and interpretation of a commission agreement.

  • Summary judgment for a national homebuilder against a governmental entity for its failure to honor tax incentives that induced the homebuilder to build.

Jason began his legal career as a criminal prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and has extensive trial experience. Prior to joining Aiken Schenk in March 2014, Jason was a litigation associate with a major regional law firm, where he primarily represented freight and passenger railroads in tort lawsuits, including Federal Employers Liability Act and grade crossing claims. The four-time Super Lawyers Rising Stars honoree has represented individual and corporate clients in a wide variety of personal injury, contract, tort, malpractice, and general litigation matters.

Pro Bono Service

Jason has volunteered significant pro bono work for the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, which provides free legal services to adults and unaccompanied children detained in Arizona by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Through his involvement with the Florence Project, Jason helped a Somali man gain asylum from political oppression in his home country. Jason's successful efforts were described in a feature article published as part of the American Bar Association's 2010 National Pro Bono Celebration.
